A Time and Motion Study to Quantify Administration Burden of DMTs in Multiple Sclerosis

Article

Using real world evidence in a time and motion study to assess patient burden and improve the administration of DMTs in relapsing MS.

Over the last two decades, the treatment landscape for relapsing multiple sclerosis (MS) has evolved significantly with new disease-modifying therapy (DMT) options. This increased range of DMTs and their delivery methods is making the time patients spend with healthcare providers more specialized.

To enable the effective planning of services for MS care, providers need to better understand the treatment burden MS patients experience when receiving DMTs. An observational study was conducted within multiple UK clinics to assess DMT burden, estimating the monitoring-related active HCP time per patient. This real world data approach to determining administrative and monitoring costs will help providers improve the processes to get these important therapies to patients more effectively and efficiently.
