Home diagnostics and self-monitoring are standing in the gap with big anticipated growth in categories ranging from ADHD to colonoscopy; cholesterol to HIV. This big next step past Dr. Google is set to give patients and families interesting new ways to explore their hunches and start important conversations with their providers.

Catapult-ing: In the U.S., Catapult Health, a provider of telemedicine services, launched a new home-based diagnostic system with over one thousand day-one users. The VirtualCheckup home kit ships with a blood pressure monitor, a fingerstick blood-testing device and measuring tape. Patients use the at-home tools and then meet with a nurse practitioner via video for results, mental health screenings and an action plan.
